Trans Camp — Next up -> 2026 (Dates TBD)

Trans Camp is a supportive and welcoming space designed specifically for transgender and gender-diverse youth (ages 8-17). It provides opportunities for participants to build community, develop leadership skills, and explore their identities in a safe and affirming environment. Through activities, social connection, and access to knowledgeable mentors, TYEF Camp fosters self-confidence, leadership skills, and empowerment. Workshop highlights include outdoor activities like kayaking and nature hikes, art classes (such as crafting marbled paper!), farm-fresh food, and nights roasting s’mores and singing around the campfire. We also host support groups, and optional workshops run by professionals on topics from protesting and advocacy to gender-affirming care.

Trans camps are staffed predominantly by young adult trans and non-binary individuals, as well as several cisgender allies. NEW in 2026, TYEF announces a CIT program. All previous campers (ages 17-18) have the option to apply to be a CIT for our summer 2026 camp (dates TBD). Check back— an application process will be coming shortly. Prioritization will be given to trans applicants.

Trans Camp is more than just an event—it’s a meaningful experience that helps nurture the growth and success of transgender youth beyond camp itself. VOLUNTEER Camp Counselors NEEDED: You must be at least 19 years of age and provide a background check. We look for thoughtful, outgoing, kind, and reliable folks to volunteer. Must have knowledge or passion in trans-related topics! Must be able to arrive early and stay until the end. We welcome all applications, especially from young adult trans folks. NURSE APPLICATION: We are looking for a nurse to volunteer at our camps. You must be at least 21 years of age and provide a background check. We are looking for someone who is knowledgeable and passionate on trans and LGBTQIA+ matters. Must be able to arrive early and stay until the end— Camp is a grand experience and a great resume builder for you. New England location. YOGA, MEDITATION, AND ARTS VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: You must be at least 19 years of age and provide a background check. We look for outgoing and reliable volunteers with a passion, talent, or strong interest in the arts, yoga, meditation, or other skill to lead workshop(s) at camp. Must have passion for transgender topics and awareness— we strongly encourage applications from trans artists! New England location.
