Sam is My Sister, Ashley Rhodes-Courter
This touching book follows the gender journey of a young transgender girl, Sam, as she embraces her true, authentic identity. The book looks at how families transition together with their trans children, and emphasizes the importance of full acceptance from siblings and parents. Ultimately, Sam’s brothers love Sam for who she is, and they understand that she is still the same person they’ve always known.
The illustrations by MacKenzie Haley are beautiful and exceedingly moving.
